He took her by the hand and carefully guided her over to the middle of the floor. Her mouth opened to ask him what he was doing, but he just gave her a secretive smile, putting a finger to his lips. He let go of her gently to move over to the old record player that she hadn’t noticed before on a small table nearby.
He dusted it off and turned it on, placing the needle on the record and suddenly music began to fill the room.

Wise men say, only fools rush in, but I can’t help…falling in love with you.

He glided over to her with a grin, holding his hand out. “May I have this dance?” She laughed, taking his hand and he whisked her into his arms.

Oh shall I stay? Would it be a sin…? Oh if I can’t help falling in love with you…

He sang along softly in her ear, and she blushed, leaning up against his chest. She could hear his heartbeat pounding as he held her there, swaying slowly to the song.

Take my hand, take my whole life too…Oh for I can’t help falling in love with you..

His fingers were gentle against her back and her hand rested his shoulder, their eyes never leaving the other’s gaze. They twirled and danced, their minds a blur and their hearts aflame with a slow passion. And when the song came to a stop, neither one wanted to let go.

For I can’t help…falling in love with you.

“I love you.” Surprisingly, it was she who said it first; a small, shy and wavering breath that brushed across his lips because of their closeness. Her eyes searched his and he couldn’t help but smile, that signature smile that made her whole body tingle with warmth.

“I love you too.”

And then perhaps the flame that existed between the two became so large and so passionate that it became real, and the world around them ignited into the night sky with unspoken words being spoken, and hearts becoming one at last.
