Hesitantly
Slowly, but surely
She moves through the crowd

Her eyes are covered
And her head is down
She can only trust herself

Her feet move of
Their own leisurely
Accord

Stepping one
After another
Concentration is key

But the walk
Becomes a run
Her legs moving like a blur

Through the throng of
Faceless masks
She runs

She runs and runs
Not from anything
But to be free

And finally
Her wings spread
Catching the wind magnificently

And she is
No longer afraid, not
A whisper
But now, a shout.
