With your eyes alight
And your body strong

I admired you once
How beautiful you were
Standing in the afternoon light.

I talked to you once
Shy, scared and nervous
Like the idiot I am

You were royalty
And I a commoner
Never should our paths cross

But the world is a funny place.

I lost you once
But you see
You weren’t even mine
