I had nothing against
The vices of life
They were there to
Keep us sane

Like the puff of a cigarette
And a swig of whiskey
Chocolate bars and
Chemical drugs

Sex with no appeal
Gambling lives away
Money, cheating and unplanned
Casualties

And you;
The taste of your mouth
The touch of your skin
Your heartbeat against mine

And I knew then that
You would be
the only vice

That ever drove me
to the brink
Of insanity.
